Alan Walker has more than 20 years' experience in corporate insolvency, restructuring and advisory in both Australia and the UK. Starting as a graduate at Buchler-Philips in 2001 in Leeds, my career has seen me work in both the UK and Australia for KPMG, Kroll and PPB Advisory.
Alan Walker passed the Joint Insolvency Exam Board (JIEB) in 2008 to qualify as a licensed insolvency practitioner in the UK. Shortly after arriving back in Australia I received registration as an Official Liquidator and Registered Liquidator in April 2012. I am also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CA).
Over the course of my career I have run numerous businesses in various industries as administrator or receiver and manager including a $70m earthworks business based in Canberra, a national $90m equipment hire business and a 20 store $15m retail network. I have undertaken numerous independent business reviews of companies performance and reviewed a bank's credit procedures and policies. I have also written a number of expert witness reports and assisted organisations with training and technical presentations.
Some of my recent experience spans across different industries such as Equipment Hire, ICT, Mining and Mining Services, Manufacturing (polypipe, confectionery, wine), Retail, Construction, Property and Hospitality.
I am also the President of a community football club based in Sydney and a director of a football services company.

Joint Insolvency Examinations Board
UK Insolvency law and practice 2008 - 2009
The JIEB continues to be an extensive exam determined to rigorously test a student's knowledge in the area of insolvency law and practice.
The demands on an Insolvency Practitioner, plus the level of trust, integrity and technical knowledge make this a professional qualification of the highest standard.
The JIEB exams are held once a year, usually in November. There are three papers:

◾Administrations, Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs) and Receiverships
◾Personal Insolvency
